In my opinion family is the most important thing in your life, so why not freeze those memories in time? Choose a setting, typically either your house or an outdoor location and let’s get to know each other. We will do some posed photos and then plenty of candids! I want you in your element where you are comfortable, so we can go for a walk or you can do an activity that you enjoy. This session is for families of 5 or less. For larger groups and extended family photos please contact me for pricing.

FAQs

Help! What should we wear?

This is by far the most commonly asked question. Make sure you are comfortable! This is SO important because if you’re not feeling comfortable in your outfit it will reflect in your confidence during your session. Try and stick to neutral colours and stay away from anything to vibrant, large graphics and/or wording and logos. Clothes that have a lot of texture and depth such as knits, denim, corduroy, patterns, etc always photograph nicely. It’s nice to coordinate outfits but remember you don’t have to completely match (a little contrast is great)!

Where will the session take place?

I typically recommend doing family sessions at an outdoor location. Depending on the season we could have fun with it and choose an apple orchard, Christmas tree farm, pumpkin patch, or a nice trail somewhere to go for a walk. I find incorporating some form of ‘activity’ into your session makes it a lot of fun! We will definitely capture a few posed family photos and then spend the remainder of the time shooting candids and documenting all of those ‘real’ feelings!

What if my children don’t cooperate?

The only thing I can say here is… DON’T WORRY! It happens more often than not! Kids will be kids and there’s nothing worse then trying to force them into poses and awkward unnatural smiles when they just want to be running around playing tag and skipping rocks in the water. So what do we do? We let them play! I promise I will get a couple of the posed family photos so you have as a keepsake and the rest of the time will be spent ‘playing’ while I capture the skipping rocks, giggles, cuddles, and more! One piece of advice… snacks always seem to go a long way. The last thing we want is ‘hangry’ children! We can take snack breaks if need be and just let our time unfold. I just totally go with the flow and you can expect a super relaxed, casual session!

I think we would be a great fit! How does the booking process work?

Visit my contact page and fill in the required information. We will chat and discuss a date that works for both of us. I then require a 20% non-refundable deposit and signed booking form to secure your date.

How long will it take to receive our photos?

You will receive your edited images through an online gallery two weeks after your session.

Do you offer professional prints?

Absolutely! You can order professional prints and albums right from your online gallery, it’s that simple!
