City Hall Toronto Wedding | Matt + Dana

Dana and I first met at Fleming College where we both were studying Marketing and shared a mutual love for traveling and eating BLT wraps from the Steeles Centre. We then both traveled across the world to Australia (at different times) where we attended Griffith University on the Gold Coast. Our friendship has remained strong and despite our busy, hectic schedules we try to arrange a meet up at least once every few months. When Dana asked me to be part of their special day, I was thrilled! I knew it was going to be very easy going, fun, and adventurous!

Matt and Dana are perfect for each other. They both are super laid back, easy going, and share a huge passion for traveling. They try to plan at least one big adventurous trip every year where they go away for about 2-3 weeks backpacking, hiking… you name it! When Dana told me they wanted to have a super small, intimate wedding at City Hall in Toronto I couldn’t have been more excited to document their day! Dana got her gorgeous dress from Saks Fifth Avenue in Toronto. I love that she didn’t feel the need to wear a ‘traditional’ wedding dress and get super dolled up as she wanted the day to reflect her true self and who she is… (a natural beauty!)

I met Matt and Dana at their condo where we took an Uber down to Trinity Bellwoods Park to get some photos of the two of them. We then walked through Graffiti Alley and stopped at Starbucks for a quick coffee and to warm up as it was a little chilly out! Just to give you an idea of how laid back this couple is… I remember Dana saying “if we forgot the rings, they would still let us get married right?!” Haha! We all had a good chuckle and then confirmed… “wait, you do have the rings though don’t you?”. Yes, they did! Next stop was City Hall where Matt and Dana put the names of their guests into a hat in the lobby and drew names to decide who their witnesses were going to be. This was such a great idea as they mentioned that each and every person attending their wedding was truly important to them so they would be honoured to have any of them as their witnesses. They said “I do” infront of 15 of their closest family members.  The ceremony was short, beautiful and emotional. It was absolutely perfect. Following the ceremony we did family photos at Osgoode Hall and then boarded the party bus to Auberge du Pommier restaurant where they continued on the celebrations into the evening.
