Sam + Matt | Maternity Session | Peterborough, Ontario

So… Sam and I go WAY back to when we were around 5 years old. We both spent our childhoods at the gym… doing competitive gymnastics! Literally, this was our LIFE. All of the other girls we trained with were in a way like our second family because we spent soooo much time every week training together. I stopped gymnastics when I was 16 years old because of really bad wrist injuries and Sam kept on going… actually she still is involved in some way shape or form with gymnastics, acrobatics, dance, etc. It’s amazing that she’s been able to stick with it for this long. So anyways, we also went to high school together but I have not seen Sam or spoke to her since then! So probably at least 10 years… wow, where does the time go?! I was thrilled when she reached out to me and told me that her and Matt are expecting and were hoping to have some photos done.

They just moved into their new home in January in Peterborough, Ontario. I went over on a Sunday morning and hung out for an hour or so documenting their moments as expecting parents. I obviously had never met Matt before and he was awesome! Super relaxed, outgoing and funny! I think we all ended up enjoying our session in the end with lots of laughs, coffee and Matt’s “posing/not posing) techniques” haha! Here is a glimpse of our morning spent together….
